Vine House Farm Bird Foods is a bird food business with a difference.  At Vine House Farm they offer you the chance to purchase many of their mixes and straight seeds that are grown on their conservation award winning farm in Lincolnshire.

Project Overview

The difficulty with this project was that the customer uses Actinic Catalog to control their website products and Orders. They then download these orders and import them into a bespoke software application also designed by us. This proved difficult because this meant that we not only had to create the design but also had to implement it into the Actinic Catalog software so any new products or pages created would retain the new design.

In the first stages we created the new design and uploaded it to a test domain for the customers approval, once this was achieved we set to implementing the design into the Actinic Software by changing the 'templates' contained in the program. This was also uploaded to a test domain for approval before making the new design live.

The further stages of this project involved card payments, previously the customer took all card payments away from the website either over the phone or via batch payments through our bespoke application. Because this involved a substantial amount of admin and support we implemented online card payments by installing protx onto their Actinic Catalog. This allowed their customers to pay direct on the website and therefore reduce alot of the admin time involved.

The end result was a great looking, SEO ready, easy to use site which allowed both easy navigation for buying products but also for finding relevant information helpful to feeding birds in your own garden. We also incroporated a Flash Video created from a DVD of when the Farm appeared on the popular TV show "Country Lives".
