As you may already know Flash allows websites and adverts to be technically created as 'movies' allowing for fluent interactivity with the user. This works in the way that Flash can perform all kinds of different animation and functionality that a 'static' page could not.

• Costs - Building a website in Flash instead of standard methods takes considerably more time and therefore more cost is involved in its creation.
  
  
• SEO - Search Engines are unable to read content and links as well as it would on a normal page meaning your site may not get the search results it deserves.
  
  
• Duplication - For Accessibility purposes it is common procedure to also create a HTML version alongside your flash website resulting in two sets of work meaning increased cost again. This also means any future changes have to be applied to both versions.

Despite the drawbacks a Flash website can make your site look more professional and actually encourage the user to stay on the site for longer by providing a good use of interactivity throughout the site and essentially this is the key factor of getting someone on your site, keeping them there.
