With effect from 16th July 2004 it is ILLEGAL for Companies to dispose of Computer Systems and other IT equipment via anyone other than a licensed Hazardous Waste contractor.

The forthcoming WEEE Directive sets targets that 65% of redundant IT Equipment must be recycled and materials such as CRT Monitors, LCD Displays, Printed Circuit Boards, Batteries and Cases must be pre-treated prior to disposal.

All Organisations have a duty of care to ensure that redundant IT Equipment is consigned to registered carriers and is properly stored / disposed of at appropriately licensed sites. Directors and Managers who deal with disposal can be held personally liable and face fines and imprisonment if laws are broken. Obviously, IT Equipment must be the easiest of most of the new "Waste" products to trace back to the original owners!

For an annual premium of just £75.00 plus VAT we will enrol your company onto our WEEE & Hazardous Waste Compliance Scheme. This ensures all current legislation is exceeded.

We register your company as a Hazardous Waste Producer as required by the new laws effective from 16th July 2004 with the local environment agency and forward to you your unique Environment Agency Registration Number. All fees for this registration are included in the £75.00 charge.

As licensed Waste Contractor, Tandem Software Group Ltd can collect any IT / Electronic Equipment for disposal direct from your site. We will issue you with the correct Environmental Agency Consignment note for your records.

We will produce the Quartely Report as required by the Environmental Agency with regards to any disposals you have made and forward this to you for you to simply send on to the Environmental Agency.

Data Security: Where applicable we will destroy all data held on Computer Systems prior to disposal or recycling, this is done using state of the art software.

A Certificate of Data Destruction will be issued in all cases.
